Hi Folks,
One of my new projects for the INA is to assemble some information for the 40% of our membership who’re Canadian on sources of supply for products.
I started getting sensitized to this when I was dealing with INA’s new burgees. I’d ordered and had delivered to me a very large quantity for the INA back when I was co-President. In redistributing them, I discovered that it cost the same amount to send 20 of them to Toronto as to send 150 to South Carolina. (And guess which set arrived first?)
The problem’s only been getting worse recently for reasons outside the scope of this Discussion Group.
Samples of alternatives we’re collecting include Novabraid rope, manufactured in Nova Scotia, and FlexiTeek synthetic teak which has better worldwide distribution than the better-known U.S. PlasDeck/PlasTeak products.
Regalia is another case, as current President Bob Gehrman notes he’s working on in another thread.
