Sakkonet Bridge Clearance and NS36 clearance

Hi All - I’m looking for advice from any of my NS36 sailors as to whether the Sakkonet Bridge in Rhode Island, or other bridges that are marked as 65’ high water clearance, are passable with the claimed 62’ to top of mast on the NS36. I haven’t passed through one yet and I just put a new antenna on!

Bob,

Obviously, I don’t know anything about Rhode Island bridges, but my vague recollection is that bridge clearance is based on “mean highest high water”.

Since this is the average, and not the worst possible, it still requires some care.

I don’t know what the tidal range or schedule is out your way, but the cautious response is to go at low water.
