Well, I am in a jam on the Registry. I have about 100 photos of Nonsuches (admittedly 40 are of Cotton Eye Joes sailing), and according to our printers, none of them are suitable for the covers (including the photo that was used last year for the cover - go figure). So, another call for photos that meet the following requirements:
with separate front and back covers: 5.75" (w) x 8.75" (h) at a minimum of 300 dpi.
With a joint f/b cover (like last year): 11.25 (w) x 8.75 (h) at a minimum of 300 dpi.
Going over some of the photos I have collected, there was one that the photo software that came with my computer said was 2400 dpi, but the site said it was 96. Another go figure.
If you send any photos (and please do!), please include some info - the when and where, boat name if not apparent, and if you did not take the photo, the name of the photographer.
Thanks. I would love to finish off the Registry so I can go uncover our boat. It is supposed to be 79 F here on Long Island on Saturday!
I just sent Lloyd some candidates which I was able to upsize using Digital Photo Professional 4, which is software that I got access to simply by owning a Canon camera.
If other people have alternate candidates they want to offer that aren’t currently meeting the 300 dpi requirement, you might want to see if this helps you, as well.
Do have a couple images you would like to use that don’t meet the the printers requirement that you could share?
I’m thinking maybe they can be massaged into working with some light editing. I’m willing to give it a try and there may be a few others with a better eye than me that would also be willing to lend a hand.

I have been ambushed like this as well. Moving images via email/messaging seems to be the main cause of degradation. Even uploading to google can reduce the quality.
The best option is a photo service like pBase or Flicker where you can store photos in their original resolution.

thanks all for your assistance. We got the problem sorted. The printer did some magic and got a pair of photos I had to work. I will save those sent to my folder of Nonsuch photos for the future!
Lloyd … I think I speak for many when I say - thank you - for your efforts. This wouldn’t happen without your hard work.
