The Discourse Hub - a.k.a. phone app

The Discourse phone app is the web site in a skinny format. Search for the Discourse app, or Discourse Hub (as they want to call it), and you’ll find it for both android and iOS.

They have went to some lengths to figure out how to squeeze the different functions on to the small screen. They have more or less succeeded…

The hamburger button in the top right opens the column of choices that you would normally see on the left side on the website. (swipe it closed)

The topic selection and sort order that normally runs across the top of the topics area is now in the Latest up/down selection.

And the pencil on the right above the topics area is the Create Topic button.

There is really not much room to create or reply to a topic since the keyboard takes to so much space, but it is what it is.

What’s the name of the group on the phone app? Thanks.

Nevermind. Found it: n26-115-233.discourse.group

I looked up the app. 2.5 stars. Guess I’ll stick with a browser tab for INA

It’s pretty limited, but I don’t use mailing list or digest, so it’s a quick way to see if anything has been posted. It will probably be a little more useful if/when people start using notifications or chat… But if there’s a desktop or tablet around, you’re going to want to use that.
